Chelsea has reachable goals for FAMU, Recruitment, Retention and Service. Under recruitment she’s implementing a law school recruitment initiative in Orlando, as well as rattlerlink in Tallahassee recruiting community college graduates to transfer to FAMU and the freshmen connection which is geared towards high school seniors nationwide. Retention however is her main focus.

The CSM golden ticket scholarship award was founded this semester giving away $1200 in scholarships to FAMU students, students can
apply for this scholarship. Chelsea plans to work with Dr. Ammons on reviving the Lyceum speaker series on campus to motivate our students, focusing mainly on the black males to increase our male ratio on campus.

Service initiatives Matthews is planning includes the Royal Court Go Green Initiative to increase campus wide recycling; she is also working with FAMU DRS to increase ACT, SAT, and FCAT scores. There is so much more that needs to be done at FAMU, this is only where it begins.
